I had my internship at Artzap Studio, a digital marketing agency in line with the degree that I will be finishing soon. In Artzap Studio, I acquired different kinds of perspective in life and I also gained enough experience and knowledge that I can use to succeed in the future. It has been quite a journey and I am forever grateful to the people that I met during my internship because they all helped shape who I am today.
The people in Artzap Studio treated me as one of their own and did not hold back in teaching me about the things I need to survive in the real world, so here are the skills that I gained because of them:
Work-related skills
My internship with Artzap Studio gave me the opportunity to enhance and further develop my skills;
Enhanced writing & verbal skills
Looking back, before Artzap Studio accepted me as an intern, I was not confident with my writing & verbal skills because I was afraid that I might screw up and let other people down but during the time that I spent with the company, I saw a significant development in those skills. Now I can speak and write my thought with confidence.
Enhanced my research skills
During my stay, my task was to create concepts and content both for internal and external matters; because of that, I was able to hone and enhance my skills in research and detail-orientation. A part of my job was to always make sure to provide factual information that is backed up with statistics/proper research.
Enhanced my learning through observation
Each of the interns in Artzap Studio were given tasks based on their field of expertise and abilities, but that did not stop me from learning other things through observing other people and by not hesitating to ask questions or tips about how other tasks are done, because like my friend said, learning should not stop even if I am working on something because letting myself be stagnant would also mean that my skills would not improve.
How I learned SEO
Working with my supervisor gave me the opportunity to learn the basics of SEO or Search Engine Optimization and it made me realize the career that I want to pursue. Although what was taught to me was limited, I am still thankful to her because now, I am focused on learning more about Search Engine Optimization.
How to become an effective copywriter
There are actually a lot of things that I need to consider if I want my output to be effective like the target market. I also learned that, as an aspiring copywriter, I am no longer just another user who searches for information over the internet. Now I understand the career I want and part of it is to write content. I have to improve my research skills and make sure that the information I find is factual and relevant to the audience. While factual information is needed for the content, it is also important that the messages are delivered clearly and with proper grammar.
How to become an effective speaker
I acquired many tips on how to become an effective speaker during my stay with Artzap Studio. The first to do is be considerate of the audience and to be mindful of the tone of voice because it can easily be misunderstood. To be credible as a speaker or as a presenter, I also learned that moderation of speech fillers is important. Standing with confidence, using your charm to get to the good side of your audience, and speaking the words clearly to deliver the message by keeping it simple and on point.
Aside from the things that I learned in line with copywriting, I also learned a bunch of stuff like the basics about websites like WordPress and graphic design stuff like the use of a color palette, how to create an effective graphic design.
Personal skills
My internship at Artzap Studio would not be complete if I did not acquire any skills or knowledge that will help me walk bravely towards the storm of reality. So here are some of the skills that I picked up and enhanced during my time with the company;
Adaptation
Starting my internship was a brand new experience for me because I was no longer bound by the confines of the school. The step to achieve my many goals in life and to successfully overcome the challenges of setting my foot in the corporate world was to adapt not just to the people, but also to my environment.
In Artzap Studio, I learned a great deal about people, culture, environment, and even behavior. I learned about these things not only from the tasks that were given to me but from every minute of the day that I spent with these amazing and creative people. I even picked up some words of wisdom like “We’re all professionals here unless it’s lunch break”.
Adaptation is important when you are “adulting”, and it is one of the most important improvements in my personal skills that I got from Artzap Studio.
Responsibilities
As an adult, I know all about responsibilities but what Artzap Studio did was, they taught me how to manage my responsibilities well and how to save myself from drowning in the toxicity of everything.
Part of that responsibility was to learn how to manage my time properly because time is very luxurious to everyone. This is something that no amount of money can buy. That is why it was important to make the most out of the time that was given to me and I am so thankful that my time was spent wisely by choosing Artzap Studio as my internship company.
Also, In Artzap Studio I improved in terms of giving priority to the things that I need to do. Since there is a never-ending list of work that needs to be done, improving my sense of urgency and prioritizing the task based on their level of importance or deadline saves me from the stress of work.
Being an intern at Artzap Studio taught me a lot about being responsible and the weight of the responsibilities that I carry on my shoulder. The responsibility to offer the best I have for the well being of the company and the people working with me.
Work Ethics
There are some things that you can only learn by experiencing it, and in Artzap Studio, I learned the proper ethics in the corporate world like going and leaving the office on time or the professional line between employees. This means knowing the limit of conversation or knowing when to give suggestions or ideas and respecting the work of other people.
After all the things that Artzap Studio has taught me, all that’s left now is to apply all I’ve learned and to prepare myself for the future. In every step that I take toward my goals and for every achievement I will soon gain, I will always and forever be grateful to everyone at Artzap Studio.
